What this service is

Medicare Plan Comparison is an independent reference site publishing Medicare enrollment figures by state. What it prints is what the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services themselves have filed, reproduced exactly, attributed to the field it came from and dated. It is not an insurance agent, a broker or a Third Party Marketing Organization; it is not connected with or endorsed by CMS or any federal programme; it markets no plan, names no plan, recommends nothing, and takes nobody's details.

How we are paid

Nobody pays us. No insurer, agent, broker or marketing organisation can pay us to appear on this site, to be linked from it, or to be placed above anyone else: there is no sponsored slot on any page, no link here earns a commission, and no enquiry is captured or sold. That is not only a policy, it is the shape the site is built in, and there is no page on it that could be bought. Were that ever to change, every rule CMS puts on a Third Party Marketing Organization would have to be met first and the disclosure would be on every page before the first such link went live.

Using the state enrollment index

The Medicare Plan Comparison State Enrollment Index may be reused freely so long as it is credited. Cite the state, the measure, the date printed beside the figure, and a link to the page you took it from. The underlying figures are published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and are United States Government Works; what is ours is the arrangement of them, and that is what the credit is for.

No warranty

Every figure is taken from a federal file on the date shown, and CMS refiles. A count is also not a recommendation: it says what people in a state did, not what is available to you, what it would cost you, or what would suit you. Read the linked source, and talk to your State Health Insurance Assistance Program or a licensed agent before choosing coverage. The service is provided as is, without warranty; nothing here is insurance, medical or financial advice.
